A Crayon alternative for small teams
Crayon is a full competitive intelligence platform. Many small teams only need one part of it: a weekly answer to “what did our competitors change, and should we care?”
When Crayon is the right choice
Crayon is built for companies with a dedicated competitive intelligence or product marketing function. It tracks many sources, turns them into battlecards for sales, and plugs into the tools sales teams already use. If you run win/loss programs, enable a large sales team, or need many people to search competitive intel, it is designed for that.
Crayon does not publish its prices. Purchase data collected by Vendr puts a typical contract around US$30,000 a year, with deals reported between roughly US$12,700 and US$46,000 (source, as of October 2026). Ask Crayon for a quote before deciding.
When it is more than you need
- You have a handful of competitors, not dozens of intelligence sources.
- Nobody on the team has time to curate a platform every week.
- You want the conclusion in your inbox, not another dashboard to log in to.
- A five-figure annual contract is out of the question.
What Competitor Radar does instead
Once a week we compare each competitor’s public website with last week’s, open the pages that appeared, and email you a short briefing: what changed, what it likely means, and links to the evidence. Quiet weeks are skipped. Pro adds a daily check of competitors’ pricing pages, with an alert that shows the old and new price side by side.

What we don’t do
We only read public websites. We don’t track news, social media, job posts or ad libraries, and we don’t build battlecards or integrate with your CRM. If you need those, a platform like Crayon is the better fit.
